Starting a blog is so easy, in fact, all you need to do is follow this step-by-step tutorial and set up your first self-hosted WordPress blog. Make sure that you visit this page to help you understand the important tasks you need to do as a blogger.
If you’ve been wanting to start a blog, but aren’t sure of what niche to enter, We are going to take a look at the coffee niche. My goal is to show you that it is possible to earn money with a blog regardless of your niche.
Last week, I shared over 47 travel blog names and what to avoid when you are getting started. As I keep finding some creative blog names in various niches, I’ll keep sharing them with you. Hopefully, this will help you chose a blog name so you can start your blog.
Coming Up With Blog Name Ideas
If you’re a new blogger or still standing on the sidelines, I understand how challenging it can be to choose a blog name. When I started this blog, I waited weeks before starting this blog.
I had actually registered my domain a year before starting this blog. The only reason that I registered it is that I knew that I wanted to blog under my real name. (I just had no clue what I was going to blog about)
As soon as I saw that my name was available I grabbed it. I registered it for 7 years and here I am now blogging under my name.
Why Did I Choose to Blog Under My Name?
Well, to tell you the truth is that I suck at picking a creative name. It still amazes me at how some bloggers are so creative and can come up with some amazing names.
I’ve never been accused or being creative, and I don’t think I ever will. That’s why I wanted to bring some amazing names that are already registered by other bloggers. I’ve tried coming up with some cool blog names, but I’ve never been able to.
I always use blog name examples to help me jumpstart my brainstorming process.
Just by browsing through this blog names list, you’ll be able to use a domain name generator and come up with your own unique domain name.
If you’re considering getting started in the coffee niche, then you’re going to want to take a look at these names. Don’t worry, I’ll also share some great tips on how to monetize your blog at the end.

Here’s How I Would Do It
I would read through all 39 unique names and find which ones I like the best. For me, I really like:
- Dear Coffee I Love You
- Ok But First Coffee
I am not sure why those jump out and grab my attention. Maybe it’s because it’s how I actually feel about coffee. I always start my day with a cup of joe and really enjoy it while sitting outside before doing any work online. Plus I think they are creative blog names that let your readers know what you’re about.
Next, I would open up a blog name generator and start brainstorming some ideas to help me come up with own domain name.
I’ve used a couple of domain name generators, but the ones that I found less confusing are:
Do a quick query on Google and you’ll be able to find several more website name generators and see which one you like using.
I would literally just play around with different variations of the words until I found what I really like. After doing a quick search on Name Mesh, I found “hot first cup of coffee” available in the .com.
If I was thinking of starting a coffee blog, I would probably register that domain, because it tells people what my blog was going to be about.
Things to Consider Before Buying Your Domain Name
Everyone wants to start a blog in hopes of turning it into profit usually jumps in with both feet in hopes of just getting started. After all, we know that you can’t reach your blogging goals until you actually get started.
So most of us think of a name and then we run over to Namecheap to register our domain. Once we’ve been blogging for a while, we realize that we’ve boxed ourselves in.
If you need to pivot your blog or no longer want to talk about just coffee, you have a hard time doing it. Then you start thinking that maybe you’re going to have to register a new domain.
What to Do Instead
Take the time to choose a domain name that not only tells people what your blog is about. You also want to make sure that it allows room for growth. Take the time to learn how to come up with a good blog name.
The truth is that most of us have no clue what our blogs will look like 2 years down the road. When we start our blogs, we know what we want to blog about, but once we realize what our audience loves, we find ourselves pivoting our blogs to find more readers.
Go Wide At First
You’ve probably heard people say that you need to niche down and cater to a small group of people. The tighter you can niche down, the more money you can make.
Many people have made money with small niche blogs. But the truth is that most people who have never blogged before will want to cast a wide net.
Once you start to build your readership and are growing your email list, you can then start niching down if you want to. However, do not feel as though you have to do this.
I’ve seen some big authority blogs that have never niched down and they are doing amazing. As long as you keep your blog on the topic and don’t start blogging about anything and everything you should be fine.
Your Blog Should Help People
The main thing to remember when it comes to building a successful blog is to provide your readers with solutions to their problems. Even if you write about coffee blog topics, you still need to help your readers with their problems.
You’re probably thinking what type of problems are they looking for?
Well, maybe they are looking for a new coffee pot and have no clue what type to get. This is where you can write review articles and link your blog posts to some Amazon products.
Many of the coffee blogs above are making money by linking back to products on Amazon. Don’t forget you can also link to coffee accessories as well.
How to Make Money With A Coffee Blog?
If you’re starting your blog with the hopes of earning an income from it, well the good news is that it is possible. As long as you are willing to put in the hard work and keep persisting even when you are not seeing the results you want, there’s a good chance you’ll make money with it.
Unfortunately, I can’t tell you how long that will be, or how much you make. The important thing to remember when it comes to making money with any blog is to keep testing different monetization strategies and see which ones work best for your blog.
Here Are Some Ways to Start
Affiliate Marketing: There are literally several affiliate networks that offer products in different types of niches. Take the time to find the right affiliate networks that you can join that will help you start earning from your blog.
Amazon Affiliate: If you are in the coffee niche, you have a great chance of making money as an Amazon Associate. Millions of people shop on Amazon and if you can get people to click on your links and go to Amazon, you have a very good chance of earning some income.
Display Ads: As your blog starts to grow, you can sign up for Media.net or Google Adsense to start earning some money. Chances are you won’t make a whole lot right out the gate. You need a lot of traffic if you want to make decent money with ads.
However, every penny counts and if you can earn enough to pay for your monthly blogging expsenses, that will take a burden off of you. So start using ads as soon as you reach at least 10,000 page views per month.
I am sure that there are other ways to monetize a coffee blog, but I would personally start with these 3 methods. Once you start to get more traffic and have an understanding of how blogging works, you can focus on different income strategies.
The Most Important Thing
If you are a brand new blogger, you really do not want to be focused too much on making money. The truth is that you need to be focused on writing amazing long form content that helps your readers.
This means that you want to find out what topics are popular with your readers. Yup, you’re going to have to do some research and find popular blog topics and see what’s working for other bloggers in your niche.
Then you need to work hard on promoting your blog. This means that you need to learn how to use social media to promote every single blog post.
If you’re new to using social media, I suggest starting with Pinterest. There’s still a learning curve with the platform, but if you learn how to use Tailwind you should be able to see some traffic to your blog.
It’ll be a lot faster than relying on organic traffic from Google. This doesn’t mean you shouldn’t learn how to optimize your blog posts for both Pinterest and Google.
After all, without learning how to write and promote your content, you will never be able to make money with your blog. You need to come up with some great first blog post ideas and just start writing.
Don’t worry about making mistakes or not doing it right. I’ve seen it far too many times where new bloggers second guess themselves only to think that they are not good enough.
What you need to realize is that all bloggers have had these paralyzing thoughts at the beginning. If you really want to work towards being a professional blogger, you need to overcome those fears and just do it.
Then keep putting one foot in front of the other. Before you know it, you’ll look back and see the online empire that you created and are very proud of.
It doesn’t matter if you have a fashion blog, food blog, or lifestyle blog. The truth is that it takes time to grow your online empire.
Final Take Away
Regardless of blogging niche you choose, the steps to becoming a professional blogger is pretty much the same. There are certain tasks that you have to do each and every day. (no it’s not writing blog posts every day)
As you continue doing these tasks, you’ll notice that your blog will start to grow. Don’t believe those overnight success stories, that isn’t the norm. For most of us, it takes time to learn how to be good bloggers and find our voice.
However, as long as you do not quit and just keep persisting, you will reach your blogging goals. Here are 21 blog tactics to increase your blog traffic. My personal favorite is the bonus #22 because it’s a real eye-opener of what to expect as a new blogger.
