What Is A Millennial Blogger?

Millenial bloggers are anyone who was born between the 1981 and 1996. This means that you’re between the ages of 23-38 in 2019. If this is you, then you’re getting an early start to earning passive income from the Internet, which is amazing.

You’re not alone, there are already several other successful bloggers in this age group which include the Confused Millennial, The Motivated Millennial, and several others, we’ll be taking a look at later on in this article.

Thinking About Starting a Blog?

Maybe you’ve read someone’s blog income report and are thinking about starting a blog? Or maybe you’re just tired of working for someone else and you’re wanting to earn money from home?

Starting a blog is both exciting and frustrating. As you know, I started this blog because I was tired of doing WordPress freelance work.

This isn’t my first blog, I’ve had a one in a lot of different niches. However, this is the first blog that I’ve worked on for as long as I have.

If you’ve been wanting to start a blog there’s no better time than now. It doesn’t matter how old you are, if you stick with it, your blog can change your life.

Today, we are going to be looking at some of the top millennial blogs. Hopefully, by doing this, you’ll realize that age doesn’t play a factor in whether you can create a successful blog.

Anyone can start a blog as long as they are willing to keep learning and growing.

Whether you’re looking for the best lifestyle blogs 2017 or 2018, you’ll find some that cater towards the younger generation below.

Why Lifestyle Blogs Are So Popular

Whenever I think about lifestyle blogs, I usually think of girl blogs. Most of these bloggers cover the following blog topics:

  • Relationships
  • Cooking
  • Recipes
  • Travel
  • Family
  • Budgeting
  • Finances
  • Fashion
  • and etc

The truth is that lifestyle blogs are pretty much everywhere on the map. But I personally think this is what makes them so popular among their readers.

A lot of lifestyle bloggers love the fact that they are not stuck in just one niche. Not to mention these blog topics are huge on Pinterest.

That’s why it’s not uncommon to see someone in this niche get thousands of page views in a month or two.

If you don’t want to go through the hassle of choosing a niche or being tied down. Then you may want to consider starting one of your own.

Later, I’ll show you a successful lifestyle blog that had success quickly all thanks to Pinterest, but first. Plus, I’ll share some tips on how to start your own millenial blog.

Should You Start

Now that you’ve seen some of the best millennial blogs hopefully, you’ve seen a trend from all of them that sticks out. Most of these blogs were started several years ago.

Through persistence and hard work, the millennial bloggers were able to turn their blog into a money making business.

Hopefully, you also realize that it doesn’t matter how old you are. Age doesn’t play a part on whether or not you’ll have success and be able to build a profitable digital asset.

The only thing that matters is are you willing to learn new strategies and apply them. Can you stick with it long enough even when you’re not making any money?

At the beginning, I told you that I was going to share a successful lifestyle blog that made it quickly from zero to profit thanks to Pinterest.

The blog that I am talking about is called Chasing Foxes. They blogged together as a couple and managed to get into profit within 3 months just by focusing on Pinterest.

Ready to Start Your Own?

Now that you’ve seen some of the best milennial blogs, you’re probably thinking, how can I get started? Well the process is easy, just follow these steps to help you get started.

Step #1 Choose Your Topic

You first have to decide what millennial blog topics you’re going to discuss on your website. That shouldn’t be too hard as I’ve already given you some examples that are proven to work.

If this if your first blog, then I recommend trying to niche down as much as you can. For instance, let’s say that you’re thinking about creating a millenial fashion blog. (which by the way, will do really well on Pinterest)

You’ll have success a lot quicker if you can find a sub-category of the fashion niche. This basically means that you’re picking a very specific segment of a much larger market. For example, let’s say that you want to write about activewear, you could write about clothes that are designed especially for hot yoga.

If you’re thinking about starting a millennial travel blog, then you would want to write about things to do in one specific area or country. Take for instance this blogger in one of the Facebook Groups that I belong to noticed a huge increase in traffic, once he started writing about one specific country.

Narrowing your niche will help millennial bloggers get more traffic and make more money.

I’ve also found that to be true with this blog as well as some of my other niche blogs. If you can start out with a very narrow topic, you’ll see success a lot faster.

Step #2 Get Your Site Set Up

Once you know your topic, it’s time to register your domain and get WordPress set up. I’ve created a step-by-step tutorial to show you how to set up WordPress on SiteGround in just 5 minutes.

Setting everything up, is the easy part. Don’t spend too much time trying to choose a theme and making your site pretty. No one is going to see your blog, until you start promoting it.

Step #3 Writing Amazing Content

This is an ongoing process that you’ll be doing for the life of your blog. You don’t have to be an expert in your niche, you just need to right the best content that you know how that actually solves people’s problems.

Your job as a blogger is going to be writing content on a regular basis and promoting that content for people to find. This is an ongoing process, so I recommend setting up a blogging schedule that you can live with.

Pro Tip: If you’re a brand new blogger, sit down and publish as many blog posts as you can in the first 30-60 days. It can take up to 35 weeks for your content to start to rank. You’ll want to make sure that you have lots of content on your blog, so people can find it.

Step #3 Promote Your Content

Start with Pinterest and forget the other social media platforms. Pinterest is going to be your bread and butter as a lifestyle blogger.

Do everything that you can to learn how to use the platform and make the most of it. I highly recommend the Pinning Perfect course, it will teach you everything you need to know from setting up your foundation, to keeping updated on all the Pinterest algorithm updates.

For every post you publish, create 5-6 pins and get them on Pinterest. Before you know it, you’ll start getting traffic and you’ll be able to monetize it with the Fomo Ad network or other higher paying networks.

Step #4 Keep Learning

Things are always changing in the blogosphere and it’s important to keep up with things. Find some successful people in your niche like Rachel from The Confused Millennial, and follow her on Facebook, Instagram and other social media channels.

Find out what she’s doing that’s working for her. Then apply the same things for your channels, just make sure you do your own thing. It’s NOT cool to steal people’s work.

Final Take Away

Starting a blog is the easy part, in fact, you can get your blog up and running in 5 minutes. The hard work starts the minute you decide to go from passion to building a profitable online business.

My goal was to show you that you can start a blog. It doesn’t matter if you don’t really know what you want to blog about or how you plan on making money.
