As bloggers, the most challenging thing to do is to grow your traffic. Yes, we all want traffic from Google, but that’s our long-term plan. In this tutorial, I am going to show you how to post on Pinterest using Social Warfare.

So grab a cup of coffee and let’s get started.
By the time you get done reading this blog post, you’ll have a better understanding of how to post to Pinterest with Social Warfare.
Before we get into the Social Warfare tutorial, I want to tell you a little bit about why you shouldn’t overlook Pinterest. Also, how I managed to push through my slow start.

I’m still learning and haven’t gotten the type of traffic that some bloggers are getting. I am finally starting to see my persistence pay off.
To think that I almost threw in the towel because I wasn’t getting the results that I wanted. I am so glad I didn’t quit. If you’re just getting started with Pinterest, hopefully, this post will help you out.
How to Post On Pinterest And Why You Should
When I started this blog, I started pinning on Pinterest. At the time, I only had about 3 blog posts and was sharing other people’s content more than my own.
I had read that so many people were creating more than one image for each of their blog posts. I never took the time to do that, I guess I was just too lazy to that. Plus, I don’t want all my traffic coming from Pinterest.
Yes, I want to increase my blog traffic with Pinterest. I just want my traffic coming from different sources, that’s why I spend time with other promotional methods as well.
Since switching gears from trying to grow my Facebook page. I decided to learn how to use Pinterest.
I’ve spent the last 2 months really working on improving my Pinterest strategy. I’ve spent more time reading and learning as much as I can. In fact, I’m still learning.
The time that I’ve been spending educating myself is starting to pay off. I still have a lot to learn and improve, but I’m happy that I am finally seeing some results.
My traffic started off slow (pretty much non-existent), but as I continued pinning and learning, I have noticed that Pinterest is now my biggest traffic referrer.
Don’t Give Up Even If You Don’t See the Results Right Away
At one point, I almost gave up because I wasn’t seeing any results from my efforts. When I got started with Pinterest, I picked up the Pinning Perfect course, which helped me lay the foundation for my blog.
I picked up that course because I didn’t want to spend months trying to find free information to help me learn.
I’m a very impatient person. I’d rather pay to learn how to do something than to try to figure things out on my own.
What Does The Course Cover
I love the Pinning Perfect course and without it, I don’t think that I would’ve been able to fully understand how to use Pinterest to grow my blog traffic. Here’s a snapshot of all the Units inside of the course.
Yes, you might be able to learn how to use Pinterest for free. As we all know, almost everything can be found online for free. The question to ask yourself, is how much time do you have to kill?
Now that you know which course I used to help me learn how to use Pinterest. I’m going to show you how to post to Pinterest using my favorite social media plugin.
How to Post to Pinterest Using Social Warfare
One of the first things I do whenever I publish a new blog post, is I pin it to my Pinterest boards. If that sounds confusing, don’t worry, I am going to walk you through step by step on how to do this directly from your blog.

As soon as you hit publish a brand new blog post, these are the steps that you’ll be using to post a pin on your Pinterest boards.
Pinning Directly With From Your Blog
Now that you’ve hit publish it’s time to run through your blog promotion strategies that you use every time you publish a new post.
If you haven’t started using Pinterest, you’ll follow these steps. I am using the Social Warfare plugin. If you’re using a different plugin, the steps will still be somewhat similar.
Access Your New Blog Post
I will visit my new blog post just like if I was a visitor. Click on the Pinterest social sharing button. As soon as I click on the Pinterest button, I’ll have the option to choose which board I want to pin to.
Step 1
I always pin my pin to my own blog post board.
Step 2
The next thing I do is use the Tailwind scheduler to schedule my pin to my other boards, Tailwind Tribes, and any group boards I belong to.
Once you’ve pinned your pin, that’s it. You’ve posted your pin to Pinterest directly from your blog.
Of course, you can create another pin for your blog post if you choose to. Many bloggers create more than one pin for each blog post.
Like I said, I personally don’t have time to do that. (you’ll have to decide if you have the time to do that)
I’d rather focus on more than one traffic strategy than putting all my time and. effort on Pinterest.
Now That You’ve Pinned Your Blog Post
You’re done promoting it via Pinterest. Don’t forget to share other people’s content, you can’t just pin your own pins.
I both Tailwind and Board Booster to help me automate a lot of my pinning on Pinterest. These tools make it easier for me to focus on other blogging tasks while NOT spending so much time on Pinterest.
You probably won’t get a ton of traffic if you’re just starting your Pinterest strategy. You’re going to have to give it time.
Just like blogging and SEO. It takes time for your pins to gain traction. However, don’t give up and make sure that you’re pinning each and every blog post.
The great thing is that the Social Warfare plugin makes it easy for you and others to share your pins. You’ll just need to make sure that you’re creating the right size images.
If you’ve never used Pinterest, here’s a great guide that you can use to get your feet wet.
Don’t Stress Too Much
Learning something new takes time. If you’re impatient like I am, then I suggest picking up the Pinning Perfect course to help you learn as quickly as possible.
If you do decide to put Pinterest into play (which I think you should) make sure that you learn as much as you can.
Whichever social media platform you decide to use, focus on just 1 or 2. Don’t try to be everywhere, otherwise, you won’t be able to really learn.
One of the mistakes I made when I first started my blog. I was trying to learn how to use all the different social media platforms because I thought I had to be everywhere.
If you try to do that, you won’t accomplish anything. Sure you might get a little bit of growth, but in order to really see the benefits of a specific platform is to dig in and get your hands dirty.
For me, Pinterest seems to be the easiest platform to learn.
Final Take Away
Starting a new blog is the easy part. Even if you struggle with the techie side, over time you’ll start to learn the basics.
It takes time and a lot of persistence to grow your blog. You can’t give up and you have to keep persisting even when your blog is brand new.

Hi Rajinder,
Welcome to my blog and glad to hear that you’re starting to use Pinterest to help you grow your blog. I’ve been using it for about 5 months. When I first started, I had no clue what I was doing.
I would pin my blog posts and that’s about it. Now that I’ve taken the time to really learn and come up with a strategy that I’ve been following for about 2 months, I’ve finally started getting some results.
Just like anything else, it takes time to learn and gain traction. However, I do believe that Pinterest shouldn’t be overlooked.
Please come back and let me know how your Pinterest marketing is coming along after a few months of giving it a go. I’d love to hear about it.

Hey Susan,
I have been using Social Warfare for a long time and never felt good about any other social sharing plugin like this.
Sharing the posts on Pinterest is as easy any other. The best part is that it shows all the images of the posts instead of just the featured image.
Thanks for sharing with us.

Thanks for this post Susan. Will explore the Social Warfare plugin. Right now am using Super Socializer plugin and found it very effective and it doesn’t delay the page loading time.
Hi Mohd,
I’ve never heard of the Super Socializer plugin. Let me know if you do make the switch and if you like the Social Warfare Plugin.
I’m kind of biased, but it’s really the only social plugin I’ve used. Thanks for taking the time to stop by and comment.
