Thanksgiving Facebook Post Ideas
When it comes to Facebook ideas for the holidays, it’s important to share things that people will love to see. For instance, here’s a great social media post that was shared by Amazon. You’ll realize that Thanksgiving Facebook post ideas are extremely popular during the holidays.
I’ve also noticed that the ones that have great images tend to catch a lot of people’s attention. Personally, I love the ones that have an image of a dog.

Who doesn’t love pictures of puppies. We all know that the food coma is real after a huge Thanksgiving meal.
Here’s another awesome Tweet that was shared by Coca-Cola during the holidays.

While I am not huge on Facebook. Instead, I tend to use Pinterest to help me grow my blog. I know a lot of people love using Facebook, especially during the holidays.
So don’t neglect using it to help you promote your holiday blog posts.
No, you don’t want to start posting your holiday social media posts during the Summer. Just start jotting down some November social media ideas on Google Drive that way you’ll be ready when the time comes.
Plan In Advance
I know what you’re thinking there’s no way I am going to write my holiday posts 4 months early. But the truth is that everyone does it.
The other day, I was at Target picking up something to take out on the kayak. I was walking down the aisle and I saw school supplies.
It’s crazy, I mean school just got out and the kids are just starting to enjoy their Summer vacation. No one is thinking about buying school supplies.
But every big department store does it. They start planning for the holidays way in advance. It’s not unusual to be walking in the mall and see some Thanksgiving decor in the Summer.
As a blogger, you need to start planning your content as well. Especially, if your blog depends on holiday sales.
Getting Your Holiday Blog Posts Written Early
Now that you have some great ideas for your upcoming fall posts, it’s time to sit down and start writing them. Trust me, you’ll thank me when you get them written early and everyone else is just starting to think about their fall posts in October.
Here’s the catch, if you’re writing your blog posts in June and July, you don’t want to promote them heavily.
After all, if you start promoting your fall blog posts heavily, people are going to think your crazy. The purpose of writing your blog posts for the Fall in the Summer is to make sure that Google indexes them.
Hopefully, you’re using a tool like LongTailPro or SEMRush to find some low competition keywords. After all, the last thing you want to do is spend time writing content that you’ll never have a chance to rank for.
I’ve done that plenty of times and let me tell you, it sucks. You put so much hard work into an amazing article only to realize that you’ll never get on the first page of Google.
If you want traffic, you need to get on the first page of Google. This is why you want to start writing those fall blog posts now.
Back Date Your Blog Posts
One of the tricks that I have learned since being in Billionaire Blog Club is that when you get your fall blog posts written in the Summer you want to backdate your blog post.
This means that if you start thinking about blog ideas for December you don’t want to publish the post with today’s date. Especially, if it is the middle of May.
Instead, you want to backdate the post.
For instance, if I was in the lifestyle niche and I just started my blog. Chances are, I haven’t written any holiday posts.
So if I want to have to posts ranking during the holidays, I would start writing my posts in May, June, or July. This would give Google enough time to index my articles and hopefully start ranking them.
Plus it will also put those posts deep into your blog archives so your visitors won’t see them during the Summer.
If you still haven’t chosen a niche here are some great blog niche ideas that will make you money with your blog.
Then about a month before or when I start seeing holiday pins on Pinterest, I would start promoting my holiday articles.
Just don’t forget to republish those posts you wrote and schedule them with the new date. Here’s how to schedule your blog posts in WordPress so you’ll know how to change the date on them.
How to Promote Your Holiday Posts
When Fall rolls around everyone else is scrambling to get their holiday posts written, you’ll be laughing. Because you’ve already written the content. All you’ll have to do is freshen up your Thanksgiving blog ideas and maybe thicken up the content a little bit.
Then you can update the date on your blog to make it look like you just published it.
Once you republish those posts and they are no longer buried deep in your archives it’s time to start promoting them and getting them in front of your readers. Here’s a blog promotion checklist of everything I do when I promote my posts.
Just treat the post as a newly written blog post. If you want, you can create some brand new social media images for it. Don’t forget to use Pinterest to promote your blog.
If you haven’t used Pinterest, here are three days of webinars that will help you know how to use Pinterest during the holidays.
Final Take Away
Ask any blogger and they will tell you that they plan their content well in advance. It’s really the only way to create a successful blog. Don’t worry if you still don’t have a great content calendar.
I still find myself winging things with my blog as well. It’s okay, as long as you plan some of your content and stay ahead with your writing, you’ll find it much easier to do everything else that a blogger needs to do.
