Maybe you’re looking for the highest paying web hosting affiliate program? Or maybe you’ve just heard that you can make money with the SiteGround affiliate program?
Either way, today tutorial is going to cover everything you need to sign up for the web hosting affiliate program so you can start making some money.
What Is SiteGround Hosting?
It is an independent web hosting company that was founded in 2004. They position themselves as a high-quality, “well-crafted” hosting solution.
They offer various hosting solutions ranging from Shared Linux hosting, Cloud and Dedicated server solutions for websites.
Their shared Linux hosting is extremely popular among bloggers that use WordPress.
Anyone who uses a self-hosted WordPress blog will need to invest in some type of hosting solution for their blog. So you can’t go wrong promoting this program.
How to Join the SiteGround Affiliate Program?
Joining the SiteGround referral program is extremely easy. All you have to do is apply to the web hosting program by visiting this link.
Should You Join?
It really just depends on your blog and your niche. If you’re in a completely different niche that has nothing to do with blogging, then you may not want to join this program.
After all, being an affiliate web hosting marketer won’t make much sense. Especially, if you don’t have a how to start a blog post like this one.
However
If you have a post that is dedicated to teaching your readers how to start their own blog, there’s no reason not to join.
True, you might not make six figures promoting a WordPress hosting affiliate program.
But if your readers are interested in starting their own blog to follow your success, then there’s a good chance you’ll make some passive income over time.
Generous Commissions
While this isn’t the hosting referral program that pays the highest commissions. The Bluehost affiliate program pays more, but in my opinion, you’ll feel better promoting SiteGround instead.
Bluehost is part of the EIG hosts and from everything that I’ve read, they are not the best service to go with. Of course, it all comes down to what you want to do.
Do you want the highest commissions or do you want to promote something that has great service and not as many complaints?
Commission Structure
- 1-5 Sales /mo: $50/sale
- 6-10 Sales /mo: $75/sale
- 11-20 Sales /mo: $100/sale
- 21+ Sales /mo custom
They do have a 30-day hold on your commissions. If you make a sale on June 1, you won’t get paid until July 1.
You’ll get paid after a 30-day hold regardless of how many sales you have made. Other programs require you to reach a threshold of $100 or more before they pay you.
How You Get Paid
You have two options to get paid:
- Paypal
- Wire
I personally choose to get paid via Paypal. You don’t even have to monitor your PayPal account because they’ll send you a notification telling you that you’ve received a commission. They don’t have a minimum payout, which means that if you make just one sale, you’ll get after the 30-day hold.
Walkthrough of The Affiliate Dashboard
Now that you’ve seen the commissions and know that it’s possible to make money, it’s time to show you around the dashboard so you can start promoting your referral links.
SiteGround Affiliate Login
You’ll want to log into your affiliate dashboard. If you’re using the service to host your own blog, You’ll need to make sure that you click on “Switch to Affiliate Area” in the top right-hand corner.
There are 8 tabs at the top of your home page, we’ll cover them one by and one so you have a better understanding of what they are.
Affiliate Home Page
At the top you’ll see your unique URL, this is what you’ll be using to promote on your blog or social media platforms. Make sure that you’re using Pretty Links or ThirstyAffiliates to cloak your links on your blog.
Link Customizer
If you want to link to a specific page on their site, all you have to do is create it inside of the customizer page.
Click on the drop-down arrow and you’ll see all the different options you have to create a custom link to. If you want to create a custom link that is not on the drop down, choose “use other landing page.”
Then paste the link into that section. You only want to paste the last part of the landing page.
Next, choose whether you want to track the link or create an easy way to remember the link.
Then click on Next.
The link has been created and you’ll see it under “My Affiliate Links” on that page. All you have to do is direct people to your custom link you created.
Stats & Reports
A quick snapshot of any sales that you have made for the month. You can also use the custom date range to check previous months.
Success Tools
You’ll find tools that you can use to help make your promotion easier. I suggest that you just get familiar with all the tools they offer.
Stats & Reports
This page is a more in-depth page than the quick snapshot on the homepage. You’ll be able to see your commissions based on:
- Paid
- Canceled
- Pending
You’ll also be able to see which plan was sold. It’s good to know which plan sells the best, this way you can cater your links to that particular plan.
Which Plans Sells the Best for Me?
When you become a website hosting affiliate, you’ll want to pay attention to which plans are selling the best. There’s no reason to send people to the SiteGround VPS service is it doesn’t convert well.
For me, the two plans that convert the best for me are the:
- GrowBig
- Startup
I’m sure people choose the StartUp plan because of the low price. I always talk about the GrowBig plan because that’s what I use and I’m sure this is what helps me sell quite a few of those plans.
Once you know which plans make you the best monthly affiliate income. You’ll want to start sending people to those landing pages. My commissions started increasing when I started sending people to the SiteGround WordPress landing page.
You’ll also want to create a blog post that talks about those plans. I have personally found this works best if you have some experience with the hosting service itself. You can create a video that walks people through on how to set up WordPress using the SiteGround cPanel, kind of like I did in this video.
Banners
You’ll find all kinds of banners that you to promote your referral link. Under “My Banners & Links” you’ll quick links to the following:
- Special Banners
- General Banners
- Application Banners
- SiteGround Logos
- Affiliate Link Customizer
- Hosting Sign Up Images
If you want to add a banner to your WordPress blog, I suggest visiting the Application banners. In the Special Banners area, you’ll find upcoming holiday specials.
At the time of this writing, you can find upcoming specials for their Labor Day Sale.
You’ll just have to play around with all the different banners and see what converts the best.
Payouts
This is the section where you add your payout information of how you would like to be paid. You’ll also need to make sure that you complete your tax information.
As affiliates, we are responsible for paying taxes on any income we make. I’m not an attorney and I suggest that you do your due diligence for how taxes work in your area, by visiting this site.
Success Tips
This page is jam-packed with information to help you make the most from this program. If you’re new to affiliate marketing, then I suggest that you spend some time on this page. You might also want to check out this affiliate training course, which will help you make the most income.

Get Hosting
This page is just to try to get their affiliates to sign up with hosting if you’re not already a customer. If you do sign up, I don’t think you’ll get a commission from signing up under your own link.
I am personally using the GrowBig Plan and am pretty happy with it. If you’re still unsure if this is a good hosting service, I suggest you read my SiteGround Review.
Resources
It’s not surprising to see they have their own resources page where they can make money if you buy through their links.
If you’re ready to join the affiliate program, you can sign up here.
SiteGround Customer Area
Their customer support is amazing and I’ve never had to wait for very long whenever I open a chat as a customer. You’ll definitely want to let people know about this.
Some people will only join hosting service if they know that they can get help from customer support 24/7. This can be the difference between earning commissions or not.
Walkthrough Complete
Now that you’ve seen the inside of the dashboard and read my review, you’re probably excited to make money. Don’t worry if you still don’t understand everything inside the dashboard, you’ll continue to learn as you start promoting your referral links. Siteground Affiliates have the opportunity to earn as much as they want.
Especially, if you’re blog has anything to do with blogging. Even if you’re not in the blogging niche, you can still promote a webhost affiliate program.
I want to share some tips on how to get started promoting this program so you can earn some money.
#1 Create A Start A Blog Post
If you’ve been blogging for a while then your followers would like to know how they can start their own blog. Take the time to create a step-by-step tutorial that walks them through how to start a blog, like this one.
It doesn’t have to be anything fancy, it just needs to show them how to get started. Make sure that you use screenshot images because people love them.
Once you’ve created that post, make sure that you start promoting it. Get it out on Pinterest and other social media images.
Don’t forget to email your subscribers and tell them about your new tutorial.
#2 Create A Resources Page
Every blogger should have a resources page with all the products and services they use to run their blog. Here’s how my resources page looks like.
Once you’ve created the page, start promoting it so you can drive traffic to it.
#3 Social Media Posts
Did you know that you can use affiliate links on Pinterest? Why not create some pins and link directly to your referral link instead of taking them straight to your blog?
Who knows, you might just be able to make some sales without sending people to your blog.
#4 Contact Your Affiliate Manager
If you’ve tried all this and you’re still not making any sales, maybe it’s time to reach out to your affiliate manager.
They’ll be happy to take a look at your blog to see what you can improve. I did this when I first signed up and they gave me all kinds of suggestions of how I could improve my blog for better conversions.
It’s their job and they see what works for super affiliates. Don’t hesitate to reach out to them. That’s what they are there for and they want you to succeed.
#5 Invest In Yourself
Affiliate marketing is not as easy as just plastering your blog with banners and links. You need to have a strategy and the Making Sense of Affiliate Marketing course is perfect for beginners.
If you’re an intermediate marketer then it may be too basic for you. I did pick up some nuggets when I purchased the course.
Don’t be afraid to invest in your learning. If you implement what you learn, I have no doubt that you’ll earn your money back and then some.
Final Take Away
Hopefully, you’ve seen how lucrative the web hosting referral program can be. You now have everything you need to get started.
All you have to do is apply to the program and once you’ve been approved start getting your links out there. It does take time to learn your way around the dashboard, but don’t let that stop you.
