So you want to become a GoDaddy affiliate and not sure how to get started. Well, don’t worry, I’ve decided to create a step by step tutorial to help you sign up for the GoDaddy referral program and hopefully make some money.
Why Join This Program?
Every blogger wants to join the best affiliate programs that pay good money and can help them create a passive income blog. I know that’s why I started my blog.
I’m tired of working as a WordPress freelancer and want to earn money from this blog. My goal is to turn it into a full-time business that way I don’t have to worry about trading my time for money.
If you feel the same way, then you’re going to love the GoDaddy affiliate program. While I admit, I don’t really like their hosting service, but a lot of my clients have their domains registered with them.
Every blogger who wants to start a self-hosted blog will need to invest in web hosting from a reliable company. Most of us will spend time reading different blogs that have a hosting plan review to help us decide if it’s the right choice.
At least that’s what I did before I signing up.

People seem to love them because they have cheap affordable web hosting. If you’re using them for your web hosting, you can share your affiliate link with your readers.
After all, if you’re happy with the service why not share it with the people who trust you the most? That’s what I do with SiteGround, I use them to host my site and I promote them on this blog.
So before you can start promoting them, you need to sign up with them.
How to Sign Up As A GoDaddy Affiliate
Before you can start promoting the world’s most popular domain registrar, you’ll need to head on over to CJ (formerly called Commission Junction) and creating an account.
Fill out all the required information and then Click Next. You’ll be taken to a screen that says the email has just been sent to you.
You’ll want to open up that email and create a password so you can log in. Once you log in, you’ll have to make sure that you add your domain to the CJ Network.
Don’t worry, you’ll only have to do this once. Then you can apply for as many affiliate programs that you without having to add your website again.
So let me show you how to add your domain inside of your dashboard.
Adding Your Domain to CJ
Login to your CJ marketing login page and scroll on the top and go to Account >> Websites
. You’ll see a green button that says “Add Website.” Click on it and add all the required information and then click on save.
Once you’ve done that go to the Advertisers tab at the top. You’re going to search for the GoDaddy Affiliate Program.
Before you can join their affiliate program, you’ll need to make sure that you accept their terms of service. A popup window will open up and you’ll want to click on the hyperlink inside of it.
Another window will open up and you’ll need to scroll all the way down and make sure that you click “accept.” You won’t be able to proceed until you get have a checkmark on the box.
Once you do that, you can proceed and click on the Join Program button.
Now You Wait
You’ve done your part but you won’t be able to access the banners or the links until GoDaddy does a manual approval of your blog. Once you’re approved, you’ll be able to log into your CJ account and will be able to start promoting this on your blog.
How to Promote Godaddy on Your Blog?
Regardless of which affiliate network you choose to promote on your blog, it’s not as easy as just throwing up a banner on your sidebar.
Most people will not click on your sidebar ads. Plus I’d rather made use of my sidebars to promote my own eBooks. This doesn’t mean that you shouldn’t put a banner on your sidebar. You never know what will happen.
How to Succeed With Affiliate Marketing
Affiliate marketing can be profitable and many bloggers make great money with it. If you’re brand new to it and don’t know how to get started with it, this program will help you understand how to use it and actually make it work.
What Works for Me
One of the things that seems to work well for me is when I write how to blog posts that show someone how to do something. If you can show someone why you love something and how to do something or why you love it, chances are they will buy through you link.
Type of content write to make sales:
- GoDaddy Affiliate Review blog post
- Step-by-step tutorial on registering a domain
- Tutorial on how to install WordPress on the platform (here’s how mine looks like)
- Create a blogging tools page and add a banner. (of course you’ll want to promote that page)
What Does the Program Commission Look Like?
No one wants to promote programs that don’t pay good. Most hosting companies pay their affiliates extremely well, that’s why so many bloggers sign up to become a hosting affiliate of popular webhosts.
You can read everything you need to know about the payment structures and what types of commissions you’ll earn on qualifying purchases here.
How Long Does It Take to Get Approved?
Unfortunately, the approval process will vary depending from person to person. If you still haven’t heard back from them about a week after applying, you may want to shoot them an email.
I’ve done this a couple of times for several different affiliate programs. You’ll be surprised at how much faster you’ll be approved just by emailing them.
Final Take Away
GoDaddy affiliates have a huge opportunity to make some great commissions. Just like anything else in blogging, it doesn’t happen overnight and you’ll need to make sure that you take the time to promote your affiliate GoDaddy blog post.
Oh and I’ve also found that when you write several different blog posts coming at it from different angles, you’ll have a much better chance of increasing your commissions.
