2 Pinterest Scheduling Tools You Need to Take A Look At

 
As a new blogger, the last thing you want to hear is that you should consider paying for another tool. Maybe you’ve been trying to grow your blog for free.

While that is possible, the truth is that you’re going to struggle a lot longer than someone who invests in their blog.

The great thing is that you can choose just one of these tools and you will do fine. I use both and I am going to show you how I use each one.

2 Pinterest Scheduling Tools

If you’ve had your blog for any length of time, chances are you’ve heard so many people talk about how amazing Pinterest is.

When I first started this blog, I ignored Pinterest. Well, not really, let me tell you about my Pinterest mistakes.

If you really want to avoid making mistakes then I suggest you read the Tailwind blog instead of watching TV. You’ll learn about the platform that will cut your learning curve.

My Pinterest Mistakes

For the first 8 months or so, all I did was schedule pins on Tailwind without any type of strategy. I had heard so many people talk about important group boards were.

Yet, I NEVER took the time to find group boards. Nor did I even take the time to come up with a great pinning strategy.

It wasn’t until maybe 12 months into using Pinterest that I finally sat down and realized that what I was doing wasn’t working.

I know what you’re thinking. Why did I continue doing the same thing that wasn’t bringing me any results?

The truth is that I was lazy. I thought that if I just continued using the Pinterest scheduling tools, things would change.

But the truth is that it doesn’t matter which Pinterest automation tools you use. If you don’t actually take the time to come up with a pinning schedule that works, then no tool is going to help you.

That’s why I am going to show you what I’ve been doing with mine. Of course, I am still tweaking it to find out what works best for me.

What I’ve learned from buying courses and eBooks is that you have to find out what works best for you. The only way to do that is to keep testing things out.

How I Use Tailwind to Help Me With My Pinterest Strategy

I’m a paying member of Tailwind and I love it, now that I’ve actually taken the time to start using it properly.

This Pinterest automation tool has a lot of features, that I will not be covering in this blog post. The point of this post is just to show you how I use it to help me share other people’s pins.

Using Tailwind to Share Other People’s Pins

Yup, I personally use Tailwind to help me share other people’s pins. I used to use it to help me share my own pins.

But just recently I decided that if I wanted to get my repin count up, Board Booster is the best one to use.

When you share a pin on Tailwind it creates a new URL every time. So based on my own knowledge, this doesn’t help you get your pin count up.

What Do I Mean?

You might have seen some pins floating around on Pinterest that have thousands of repin counts or save counts. These people are most likely using Board Booster or manually pinning their own pins.

Unlike Tailwind, Board Booster actually loops your pins and keeps track of all your repins. Although, Board Booster is not an official API partner, of Pinterest. (so use it at your own discretion.)

Why I Continue Using It

As I mentioned before, I am a little lazy and I love the fact that Board Booster has a looping feature. This means all I have to do is add the pin once and that’s it.

It will continue looping my pins until I change them out. Plus I also realized that when you click on the view source of the pin and type in “method” both Board Booster and Tailwind say “Martech.”

So that makes me feel that all Pinterest knows is that the pin was scheduled by an automation tool. I know that may sound a little confusing, especially if you’ve never looked at the source code of a pin.

This course will show you exactly what I am talking about and learning the ins and outs of Pinterest pins.

But just by taking the time to see this makes me comfortable using Board Booster. Of course, I can’t say whether things will change later on down the road. That’s why you always have to be willing to test things out and change things up when you need to.

My Tailwind Strategy

Basically, I use Tailwind to schedule other people’s pins to go out throughout the day. I set up some time throughout the week to schedule pins inside of Tailwind.

At the time of this writing, I only schedule 8-10 per day with Tailwind. I’m still testing things out to see what’s the perfect amount to share per day.

The cool thing about my Tailwind plan is that I can schedule as many as I want per day. You’ll have to play around with the number of pins that you schedule to see what drives the most traffic to your blog.

How I Use Board Booster for Pinning My Pins

With my Board Booster account, I am using it to help me promote my own pins to my Group Boards. I’ve set up a campaign that holds about 30-50 of my popular pins and those pins continue to get cycled through to the group boards.

How I Set Up My Campaigns

Log into your Board Booster account and go to Pinning Tools >> Campaigns.

You will want to create a campaign. I’ve created a random campaign to help me loop my pins on Pinterest so my traffic can continue to grow.

I’m not going to run through the whole process of setting up the actual campaign. Here are my settings in case you want to see what it looks like.

You’ll want to see when the best times for you to pin are so you can set the times you want your pins to be scheduled to your group boards.

Once you start setting up a new campaign you’ll be asked to select the boards you want to pin your pins to. I personally use Board Booster to pin my pins to the group boards that I belong to.

As you can see, I only pin one pin per day to each group board, except for one pin. My whole motto is the slow and easy strategy is the best.

This way I can ensure that my pins are not flooding the group board. When I first started pinning. When I first started using this method, I would just set the pins up to pin. I never logged into Pinterest to check things out.

Manual Pinning My Strategy

If you follow my blog, you know that for the first year of using automated schedulers, I wasn’t getting any results. No matter whether I was pinning 50 pins per day or 60. I couldn’t get Pinterest to work for me.

Finally, I picked up this ebook that talks about how manual pinning was able to skyrocket her traffic. I figured, what the heck, what do I have to lose.

I paid for the eBook and let it sit on my hard drive for a few months. Yup, I didn’t put it use until January. I think I may have tried manual pinning before, but the truth is that it’s time-consuming and I just got lazy.

Well this year, I decided that it was time to take my blog growth seriously. If I don’t then I will be freelancing forever and I definitely don’t want that.

So on January 15, 2018, I started manual pinning on Pinterest. I set up a template on Google Drive that would help me stay on track. It is a lot of work to manually pin to Pinterest.

You can pick the templates I use which goes hand in hand with the eBook.

But after picking up the Pinterest Strategies eBook and reading about Carly’s success with manual pinning, I decided I’d give it a try.

At first, it was confusing knowing how to stay organized. I still use an automated scheduler to help me with my pinning. After all, I don’t want to be stuck at my computer everyday.

So I wanted to make sure that I wasn’t pinning the same pin to the same board over and over. It took a while to come up with the perfect pinning strategy that I am happy with. (I’m not stuck with one pinning strategy if something works better)

The one thing that helped me get organzized with my manual pinning was creating a spreadsheet to implement the methods taught in the eBook.

My template helps me stay on track so I don’t pin the same pin over and over to the same group board. If you need help staying organized while pinning, then you can check out my Pinterest Daily Pinning Template.

I’ve even created some videos that will show you how to use it. Using a template has definitely helped me improve my pinning strategy.

At first, I was so excited to see the results that I was getting. My Pinterest reach has shot up to over 280,000 but for the last couple of days, my traffic seems to be dropping.

Just When

I think that I am finally going to see a huge increase in my Pinterest traffic, my traffic drops. So it’s time to go back and take a look at my pinning schedule.

One day, I’ll be able to figure it out. The one thing that I have definitely noticed is that Pinterest is not as easy as everyone says it is, at least for me it’s not.

The cool thing is that my Pinterest traffic is growing, it just seems like it’s taking forever. If I compare the stats from this time frame back in January, you can see that I am definitely starting to get more traffic from Pinterest.

Maybe it just takes time to learn how to use Pinterest? It’s just a little frustrating when you see all these bloggers who say that Pinterest is so easy to learn.

I have no doubt that I’ll figure it out one day. It’s just going to take some time to get there.

Don’t’ Quit

Just like anything else with blogging, it takes time to figure things out. When you started your blog, chances are you didn’t know anything about SEO.

Maybe you still don’t? If not here’s a great site that will help you get started.

Blogging is a lot more than just publishing new content. It takes continual learning, especially, if you’ve never done anything online other than checking your email or do quick Google searches.

It doesn’t mean that you can’t learn how to do those important blogging tasks. It just means that it’s going to take you a little longer to learn how to do it.

No matter what you’re spending time learning about your blog business. Whether it’s:

• Learning how to use Pinterest
• Reaching out for your first guest post
• Understanding Twitter
• Making the most of Facebook groups

It takes time to fully understand how to do these things. You can’t expect to learn everything in one day.

Final Take Away

It may take you some time to learn how to use Pinterest to grow your blog. If I had to start over with learning how to use it, I would definitely invest my time into learning as much as I could about the platform.

I would still use the Pinterest scheduling tools to help make my life easier. The difference is that I wouldn’t rely 100% on any tool to grow my blog.

You still have to take the time to learn how to use the platform if you want to see growth and understand it.
