Are You An Introvert Blogger – You Can Still Make Money

July 20, 2018 by Susan Velez

Last updated on July 25th, 2018 at 11:14 am

Are you an introvert who started a blog in the hopes of making money from home? If you are an introvert you’ll love the fact that you can still make money blogging. Imagine being able to wake up and work from the comfort of your home. I do it and I absolutely love.

are you an introvert

I’m a loner and it’s so easy to become a hermit and not want to do anything. However, now that the nice weather is here, I will be spending more time away from my computer and doing things like hiking, kayaking, and other outdoor activities.

If you’re an introvert and are looking for ways to make money from home, then blogging may be right up your alley. The cool thing about it is that you don’t have to be an extrovert to share your knowledge with the world.

Have you been thinking about starting a blog but still not sure? I’ve put together a tutorial that will help you start your blog today.

Having a blog opens up so many opportunities for you, whether you’re an introvert or not. You get to choose who you interact with and what hours you want to work.

If you’re a morning person like I am, you can get up and tackle your blogging duties early in the morning. If you still haven’t started your blog, I’ve written a step-by-step tutorial on how to start a blog on SiteGround.

My goal is to turn this into a profitable venture so I can walk away from my WordPress freelancing business. If you’re new here, you can read more about me here.

We are all motivated by different things, for some of us, it’s security. Other people need the stability of a daily routine so they know what needs to be done. Whatever your motivator is, working online (blogging) could be the solution.

Are You An Introvert Blogger?

Do you love the thought of being able to blog from the comfort of your home without having to deal with people on a daily life? Chances are you are an introvert.

I would consider myself an introvert. I love working from home and not having to deal with people on a regular basis. That’s one of the reasons that I love blogging.

Yes, I still have to deal with clients, but I get to work my own hours without really having to deal with people on a daily basis. Now, this doesn’t mean I don’t crave social interaction, because as humans, I think it’s healthy when we get interaction from others.

However, I love the freedom that blogging brings and once you realize the potential there is to make money from home, I have no doubt that you will too.

My Average Day

girl blogging on bed

I’m a morning person, so I usually rise and shine at 5:00 AM every morning. On the weekends, I usually sleep in until 6:00 AM.

Once I am up, I like to have a little bit of quiet time for meditation. Then I’ll grab a cup of my favorite Keurig coffee, which is the McCafe.

Most mornings, I’ll work from my iMac computer which is perched on a standing desk I bought from IKEA. Sometimes, I will grab my MacBook Pro and sit on the couch.

It really just depends on what I am in the mood for. I’ll usually spend a couple hours taking care of my blogging duties like commenting, working on Pinterest, writing a new blog post, or doing something that will help my blog grow.

Around 8:30 AM I am ready to eat. I’ll usually eat some oatmeal with fresh blueberries. Once my breakfast is done, It’s time to head to the gym and run any errands I have.

After that, I come back home eat some lunch and then around 2:00 it’s time to get back online and take care of any blogging tasks or freelance work that needs to be completed for the day.

My computer is usually turned off by 4:00 PM every evening and that’s my time to focus on my family. I still make time to pin manually, but I always pin from my iPad.

Now I know that for a lot of people, this isn’t their dream, but I love it and it works fine for me. I’ve never dreamt of running my own seminars or getting in front of a bunch of people and speaking from the stage.

I know that a lot of people would love to do this, but not me. It’s important to find what you works well for you and work hard to make those goals a reality.

Having an online business gives me financial and time freedom to live the life that I absolutely love.

But I’m Not An Introvert Is Blogging Right For Me?

The cool thing about blogging is that it doesn’t matter if you’re an introvert or extrovert. As long as you’re willing to work hard to achieve your blogging goals, you can do so from the comfort of your home.

If you’re an extrovert and want to be known by thousands of people, your blog can help you get there.

Maybe you want to speak at seminars and use your blog as a platform to achieve those dreams. Well, the cool thing is that you can.

You don’t have to be an introvert blogger to succeed in blogging. There are all kinds of people in this world and that’s what makes it so beautiful.

As bloggers, we have the option to choose what and how we want to make money.

For me, it came down to affiliate marketing and building up other passive income streams through my blog. I’m still working as a WordPress freelancer, but am on a journey to move away from freelancing. You can read a little more about my story here. So are you ready to get started?

I’m going to share some different ways you can start earning money from home.

Blogging About Your Passion

We’re all passionate about something. Me, I love WordPress and blogging and that’s what I’ve been doing for a very long time. Now I share my personal experiences, mistakes, and successes with you. My goal is to help you start, grow and monetize your own blog so you can work towards your financial freedom.

We all have passions that we can share with the world. What do you love doing? Maybe you love mountain biking and love exploring all the different biking trails?

You could start a blog that shares your tips about mountain biking and which trails you visit and why you love them. (I love mountain biking and can’t wait for the warm weather so I can get back on my Cannondale)

Just take a minute to look around on the Internet and you’ll see thousands of blogs in many different niches. The possibilities are endless.

To make money on your blog, you can become an affiliate or create your own online course. It does take time to start earning money, but as long as you’re consistent with it, I have no doubt that you will see success.

When you do become an affiliate, it’s important to only recommend products that you have used and loved. Always be authentic and care about your audience, instead of just chasing an affiliate commission.

Your audience will grow to trust you and will want to try what you recommend. One of the best courses I’ve taken in affiliate marketing is Making Sense of Affiliate Marketing. Michelle the creator of the course earns over $100,000 per month on her blog.

You’ll learn everything that she did to achieve that success with her blog. Of course, there’s no guarantee that you’ll earn that with your blog. But it’s always nice to learn from people who have achieved the success you want.

Article Writing

Believe it or not, you can make some good money writing articles for other bloggers. Are you a good writer? Do you have the passion to be a published author? If so then you definitely need to consider writing others as a way to make money from home. It may take time to get approved to write for other blogs, but here are 11 sites that pay good money for your articles.

You can also check out Upwork.com, it’s an easy place to start people who will pay you to write for them.

Freelancing

Are you good with WordPress? Maybe you can set up WordPress and deal with all the technical aspects of blogging? If so, then you can consider offering your services as a WordPress freelancer. As of today, there are over 75 million WordPress blogs online.

WordPress comes with a learning curve and some people would rather pay others to help them get their blog started. You still get to work from the comfort of your home and the freedom to choose the hours you want to work.

If you’re an introvert then I recommend searching sites like Upwork.com to help you find work. You won’t have to worry about going out and dealing with clients. All your communication will be through the Upwork site and you won’t ever have to meet with the client.

Writing An eBook

Another great way to add an income stream to your blog is to write an eBook and sell it on your blog or Amazon Kindle. I’ve written a couple of eBooks that I sell on Amazon, you can check them out here. As a blogger, it’s important to add several different income streams to your blog.

Selling an eBook on your blog is a great way to give your audience the opportunity to take their learning further. You might not think that people will buy your eBooks.

But the truth is that many bloggers are writing ebooks for money. If you have already started a blog, then you have what it takes to write an ebook.

If you’re using WordPress, you can use this plugin to sell digital products.

However, as your audience starts to grow and trust you, people will buy your eBooks. Another cool thing about selling your eBooks on Amazon is it’s a great way to build your email list.

Setting Up An Etsy Shop

If you’re an incredibly creative entrepreneur, you can have an online store with Etsy or eBay. Heck, you can even set up an online story on your blog using the WooCommerce plugin or Shopify. I’ve never done this because I am about as creative as a brick.

My niece loves to draw and she has some amazing drawings. I’ve been trying to get her to set up an Etsy shop, but for some reason, she is just not into it.

There are several people who make great livings from their homemade creations.

Digital Products and Online Courses

So many bloggers have joined the online course phenomena. If you’re already blogging about something that you’re passionate about and have a lot of knowledge in.

You can create a digital product or an online course that you can offer to your audience. Your blog will still have amazing content that will help your audience solve their problems for free.

Many bloggers use third-party platforms like Teachable or Thinkific to host their online courses.

But your digital products will be more involved and will have premium content that you don’t share on your blog. Heck, you can even share the content on your blog, but your online courses and digital products package up the content in an easy to follow the system.

This makes it easy for your audience to get the information at their fingertips. Instead of spending hours trying to find the information for free.

How to Know if You’re An Introvert or Extrovert?

If you’re not sure what you are then I recommend heading to google and taking an introvert or extrovert quiz. They are not hard to find, in fact, I found this one in just minutes.

I haven’t personally taken the quiz, because I already know that I am an introvert. When I was a young kid, I would shy away from things that put me on the spotlight.

As an adult, I haven’t changed that much. Although I would consider myself a little more outgoing now.

As I mentioned, when you become a blogger it doesn’t really matter what you are. There are many people who have created successful blogs and all everyone is different.

So don’t let the fact that you have an introvert personality stop you from chasing your dreams. If other people have created successful blogs then so can you.

Final Take Away

We could go on and on about the different ways to make money online as an introvert blogger or even if you’re an extrovert. The possibilities are endless.

It just takes a little bit of creativity to decide how you want to make money with your blog. The cool thing is that you can start with one of these methods and then add more income streams as your blog continues to grow.

The important thing to remember is that it won’t happen overnight. As long as you continue working towards your goals, I have no doubt that with your consistency and hard work you will create an online empire you’ll be proud of.

    Hi Yvonne,

Interacting is important to help you grow, but I don’t too much of it. It’s taken me some time to get comfortable enough to reach out to people.

Thanks for taking the time to stop by and comment.

    Have a great day ๐Ÿ™‚
