Best Affiliate Programs That Will Make You Money

October 17, 2018 by Susan Velez

I’ve compiled some of the best affiliate programs that are easy to join and pay some of the best commissions online. Affiliate marketing is one of the best ways to monetize a blog.

Why Affiliate Marketing?

A lot of new bloggers start with Google Adsense to monetize their blog. It’s easy to believe that you can earn a lot of money by placing ads on your blog.

When I tested out Google Adsense on this site, I was totally disappointed at the results I got. I probably could’ve optimized my ads and improved the amount I made, but I didn’t want to spend time doing that.

google adsense vs affiliate marketing

I’ve since removed the ads from my blog and now make most of my money from affiliate links. I love it because you don’t have to worry about creating your own product (although I think you should write an ebook, here’s mine.)

Affiliate marketing allows you to earn a commission for any referrals or actions from traffic you send to an external website.

There are no limitations to how much you can earn online. If you can drive traffic by recommending products and services and actually make sales, the earning potential is unlimited.

The most time consuming part is finding the best affiliate programs with high commissions. I’ve decided to put together a list of affiliate networks and programs that will make you money.

Top Paying Affiliate Programs

As a blogger, you have the opportunity to earn money just by recommending products and services that you use and believe in.

If you blog about your favorite products and brands, you should consider applying to that company’s affiliate program to earn money from your blogging efforts.

A brand new blogger can be successful with affiliate marketing, if they take the time to learn how it works.

There’s no reason to wait until you get more a lot of traffic. Unlike display ads, you don’t need a lot of traffic to start earning.

In fact, you can easily start earning from day one. Just remember that you need to add an affiliate disclaimer and cloak your links to stay out of trouble with the FTC.

See below for a huge list of networks and programs that you can apply for to start earning money online.

How Do You Join Affiliate Programs?

  • Sign up with AWIN, ShareASale, and FlexOffers to get started. It’s free to create an account and get started.
  • You’ll need to have a functionally working blog – Here’s how to start a blog.
  • Find a program you want to promote and apply to individual programs.
  • checkStart driving traffic to your unique link ID.

I’ve written tutorials on how to join some of the most popular affiliate networks. You’ll learn how to navigate the dashboard and where to find your unique links. I recommend that you scroll through this list of affiliate networks and quickly set up an account.

  • ShareASale Review A Complete WalkThrough Of How to Use It
  • FlexOffers Review How to Join and Make Money
  • How to Sign Up With Affiliate Window and Why You Should

Once you join these programs, you can start browsing through the thousands of different programs that you can apply to. Don’t worry, I’ve compiled a list of some of the top paying programs below.

I’ll be creating more tutorials of some of the most popular networks you can join and put them here. So be sure to check back often for new tutorials.

How Much Can You Earn From Affiliate Programs?

The income potential is unlimited. It really boils down to the quality of the content that you write and how well you promote your blog posts.

One of the things that I have learned is that you want to engage your readers and share your own stories to have success. No one wants to be sold, that’s why spamming your links won’t earn you any money.

Focus on writing helpful engaging content and the sales will start coming in.

If you can write content on a regular basis and work on your promotion, you can easily add an extra thousand dollars to your monthly income.

Just like anything else online, it isn’t going to happen overnight. However, if you don’t give up and just keep growing and learning, you’ll eventually start to make money.

Best Affiliate Programs For Bloggers to Make Money

I know how challenging and time consuming it can be to find the right programs to promote that will actually earn you money. That’s why I’ve decided to put together a huge list of the best affiliate marketing programs for bloggers to make money.

There are literally thousands of affiliate programs that you can join. Some of them offer extra bonuses on top of your commissions.

Some pay recurring commissions, this means that you’ll make the sale once and continue getting paid over and over as long as the person you recommended remains a customer.

Two-Tier Programs

Two-Tier programs will pay you a commission whenever someone you refer makes sales. For instance, let’s say that you refer someone to ShareASale or FlexOffers, you can earn a percentage of all the sales that your referrals make.

The affiliate is making commissions from their hard work, and the network is paying you for recommending that person to their network.

Affiliate Marketing Lingo

When you get started as an affiliate, you’ll hear terms tossed around like recurring commissions, cookies, click-through rate, CPA (cost per action), first click and etc.

It can be confusing to know what all these terms. Here’s a glossary of terms that you can use if you’re just getting started and have no clue what some of these things mean, check it out here.

How to Get Started In Affiliate Marketing

Now that you have this huge list of affiliate programs that pay, it’s time to get started. First things first, you’ll need to set up your blog. Here’s a step-by-step tutorial that will walk you through on how to start a blog.

Don’t worry about the design of your blog or website. Yes, you want it to look presentable, but there’s absolutely no reason to pay a fortune and hire a web designer.

If you really want to make money with your blog, then you’re going to have to follow these steps.

Step One: Write Content

Once you’ve chosen your niche and set up your blog, it’s time to sit down and write content. One of the most important things you need to focus on when writing content is making sure that you’re targeting keywords you can rank for.

When I started this blog, I made a mistake of writing content on keywords that were too competitive. As a result, I spent over 100 hours wasting my time because I didn’t do proper keyword research.

Don’t make the same mistake I made. Make sure that you’re writing content on keywords you have a chance to rank for.

Step Two: Promote Your Content

It doesn’t matter how great your content is if no one sees it. You need to spend time promoting your content if you want to make money.

I’ve created a blog post checklist to give you an idea of what I do every time I hit publish on a brand new blog post.

Step Three: Rinse and Repeat

As a blogger who wants to make money with affiliate marketing, you’re going to need to write a lot of content. Get on a blogging schedule that you can live with and make sure that you’re writing fresh content on a regular basis.

The more content you have, eventually, the more traffic you’ll get from Google. There’s no set number of blog posts you should publish on a weekly basis.

One of the best tips I have for beginners is to write as much content as you can. You need to work on building up your blog archives as quickly as possible.

Final Take Away

Affiliate marketing can be a lucrative business, if you can develop a strategy that works. Don’t worry if it takes you some time to start seeing some results from your effort.

It takes time to build a successful business online. Whatever you do, just keep working on your blog and tweaking your strategy until you start to get the results you want.

In the end, it will be so worth it when you look back and see the online empire you built.
