I had been hearing so much about Affiliate Window is also known as AWIN, I thought it was time to create an account and write a complete AWIN review. I’ll be walking you the complete sign-up process and then give you a sneak peek inside the dashboard.
Then I’ll share some tips on how to get started making money. Did I mention that they pay you $30 for referring new publishers to their program?

What Is Affiliate Window?
AWIN came to be when Zanox and Affiliate Window rebranded to one company in 2010. It is the largest affiliate marketing network in the UK.
They are similar to CJ Affiliate, Impact Radius, ShareASale, FlexOffers, and etc. Anyone can join and apply to different advertising programs to start earning money.
There are over 6,000 advertisers in a variety of niches, so you should be able to find something to promote. They work with several big brand names in a wide variety of niches.
Registering your account is simple.
So let’s get your account created so you can log in and start finding programs to earn money with.
4 Step Sign Up Process
Step #1 Publisher Sign Up Page
Enter your personal information and then click “Next Step.”
Step #2 Promotional Type
You’ll want to select the region you reside in and then choose your promotional methods. You’ll have the option to choose between content, display, email, and search.
I chose Content and then checked the Blogger and Social Content box. If you choose more than one method, make sure you choose a primary promotional method.
Step #3 Promotional Space
This is where you’ll add the URL to your website or blog along with a quick description. You’ll also want to choose a sector that is related to what your site is about. You’ll want to make sure that your site is fully functional to get approved.
It took me a little bit of time to figure out what selector to choose for my blog. The sectors that you can choose from are:
- Finance and Insurance
- Retail & Shopping
- Telco’s & Services
- Travel
Once you click on the sector, you’ll see more categories that you can choose from. I chose Telco’s & Services and went with Lead Gen. I figured it was the best one that fit my website the best.
Step #4 Verification
Enter your personal information and then choose online payment.
AWIN Publisher Registration Fee
I know what you’re thinking, why should I pay $5.00 to join AWIN?
I even did a quick search online for an invitation code to join. However, I couldn’t find one and read why they charge people five dollars to join to prevent fraud signups.
You’re NOT actually paying them to join, you’re just making a $5 deposit. It’s a verification safety payment while they process your application.
Once you’ve paid your verification fee, it’s time to wait until you hear back from them. It took them 24 hours to approve my account.
As you can see, my $5 verification fee was credited to my account. If you get denied, they will refund you your money back.
Login And Walk Through of The Dashboard
Once you receive their “Congratulations Welcome to the Program” email, it’s time to log in and complete your profile.
You will have the option to upload an image and add your Twitter username, and your Facebook Page URL.
Tax Information
Next step would be to complete your W9 form for tax purposes. Yes, you have to pay taxes as an affiliate marketer, so make sure you fill it out. Here’s a great article about taxes for affiliate marketers, as I am not a tax advisor.
Dashboard Snapshot
As soon as you log in, you can see a quick snapshot of your total earnings, tracked commission, monthly period comparison. If you want a more in-depth explanation of your earnings, you will need to go to your reports tab.
New Advertisers
You can quickly see all the new advertisers that have joined the AWIN network. You can quickly apply to a program right on the dashboard.
Head on over to the advertisers tab to find a huge selection of more advertisers you can work with.
Finding Advertisers to Work With
All Programs
Now it’s time to find advertisers so you can start working on your promotion and earn money. For this tutorial, I am going to walk through and apply to my first program and show you how easy it is.
You can scroll through the different sectors or type in the name of the program you want to join. I typed in the Etsy program because that’s the program I want to join.
This is what you’ll see when you scroll through the different programs. Let’s take a quick look at what this means.
Program: This is the name of the advertiser you are applying to
Conversion Rate: A 9% conversion rate on a 100 visitors means that 9 people bought something
Approval Rate: A 98% means there’s a good chance that you’ll get approved to the program
Payment Status: AWIN uses a traffic light system and green means that advertiser offers accelerated payments. You can read more about the traffic light system here.
Average Payment Time: How long you’ll have to wait to receive payment
Product Feed: Whether or not the advertiser provides a product data feed to help their publishers
Launch Date: The date that the advertiser joined the network
Actions: You’ll click on the plus sign to apply to the advertiser
Here’s a glossary of affiliate terms that you’ll need to become familiar with.
Joined
This is where you’ll find all the advertisers that have approved your online application.
Not Joined
These are programs that you haven’t applied for. You can decide if you want to apply to them or not.
Pending
You can quickly see all your pending applications on this tab.
Rejected
This is where you’ll see all the programs that you have been rejected by advertisers. Hopefully, you won’t have any issues getting approved to the programs you want to join.
Closed
You can quickly see which programs have been closed down.
AWIN Links
Once you have been approved it’s time to start building a link. You’ll have the option to create the following types of links:
- Create A Feed
- Link Builder
- My Creative
- Convert A Link
I only got approved to the network yesterday, so right now I am only going to show you how to use the Link Builder to create your first link.
The cool thing about the Link Builder is that you’ll be able to create deep links to specific pages, whether or not you’ve joined the program.
Guys this is huge, especially if you’re an affiliate marketer. Let’s say that my application gets denied for the Etsy program, hopefully, it won’t.
I can still make money by referring people to the Etsy program by coming in here and creating a deep link to the Etsy affiliate sign up page. Whenever someone joins the program via my AWIN link, I make money.
Oh, and did I mention that AWIN will pay you $30 referral fee for driving new publishers to their website? You’ll get paid once they make their first commission. If you’re interested in joining, you can sign up through my link here.
Take Your Time
I highly recommend that you take your time to play around with the link builder. One of the things that I have learned is if you can send people to a specific page that is related to what you’re talking about, you increase your chances of earning more.
So make sure that you use the link builder to create links to the correct destination URL you want people to land on.
Advanced
Honestly, I have no clue what any of this means. As I mentioned, I haven’t had a lot of time to play around inside the dashboard and I’m not really sure if I’ll take time to understand what this is.
You’ll have a few options under the advanced tab and they are:
- Advertiser Meta Data
- Transaction Notifications
- Third Party Technologies
- Awin Consent Banners

Support
This is where you’ll be able to access support via the ticket system. They even provide a wiki and videos for their affiliates. Don’t forget to check them out before contacting support, I have no doubt that you’ll get a lot of your questions answered.

Once you start promoting your affiliate links, you can come to this tab to check out all the different reports you have access to.

How To Make Money With AWIN
Now that you’ve seen how easy it is to join, it’s time to sign up and create your own account. Then it’s time to start promoting your affiliate link to make money.
Choose programs that are related to your niche and write reviews on those programs. It’s a lot easier to write a review if you have access to the product or service.

Join More Than One Program
Make sure that you sign up with more than one program, here’s a list of some of the best affiliate programs you can join. (it’s constantly being updated)
It takes time to understand which programs are going to convert the best. Don’t make the mistake of signing up with a program just because they have a high commission.
Yes, it’s nice to get a high commission. But don’t overlook those programs that pay smaller commissions and convert better. Although I’d highly suggest staying away from programs that pay less than $5.
Invest In Your Education
Unfortunately, it takes time to understand how to successfully make money as an affiliate marketer. That’s why I always recommend that you invest in your affiliate marketing education. It will cut your learning curve in half and put you in profits faster.
Final Take Away
The concept is easy, start a blog and get approved by a reputable affiliate network. Apply to publishers and start promoting your affiliate links.
Next, sit down and write content that helps your target audience. Eventually, as your traffic grows and people start trusting you, they will click on your links and buy the products that you recommend.
Sounds easy right?
Well, it is, but the downside is that it doesn’t happen overnight. Unfortunately, it takes a while to start seeing the monetary return from your efforts.
This is why so many people quit before they make their first dime online. They tend to believe that they can set up a blog today and make money tomorrow.
If you want to make money online, it is going to take persistence and the dedication to keep going. Don’t worry, as you continue putting the work in, you will eventually make money.
